Cranberry and cassis aromas and flavor with some earthiness. Well balanced with currants and leathery notes and an oaky, cedary finish. This is a supple blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon giving a mellow, fruit forward Bordeaux with none of the harsh tannins or astringency often associated with the region. It also comes in a distinctive angular bottle and is an outstanding entry level Bordeaux.

superb Lake County (high altitude granite) grown Merlot. Not only is it some of the best colored in the state, but it has driving minerality and rich pomegranate aromas. The Tracy Hills Cabernet Sauvignon component provides raspberry aromas, a rich, firm structure of fine, sweet tannins, and imparts intriguing notes of cocoa to the nose and a lingering finish reminiscent of fine Bordeaux.

Tannins barely perceptible as red-fruit flavors linger in a good, long finish. The screw cap fosters unusual freshness.

We found this blend to be the best expression of our little corner of the Lodi Appellation. One is immediately struck by the vibrant color of this wine. The aromas of blackberries and plums are complemented by spice, toasty oak and cedar notes. Upon washing this liquid across the palate, a wave of sweet black cherries and boysenberries, with a hint of smoky, dark oak lead to a long, totally seductive, finish. A great expression of this variety, this wine will gently knock your socks off. ‘The Other’ is a perfect accompaniment to a variety of cuisine.

46 % Petite Verdot, 30% Merlot and 24% Cabernet Sauvignon
The Red Head Studio Yard Dog Red is a bit different than what you have come to expect from Australian wine. The Yard Dog is sourced from grapes grown in McLaren Vale, Fleurieu and Adelaide Hills in Southeastern Australia. The color is purple with pink highlights around the edge of the glass. The nose is violets growing in a lumber yard. The mouth feel is silky. The flavor is blackberry, dark chocolate and curry spice, there is some strawberry and leather in the mid-palate. A pretty good berry and spice finish.
