From the Ligneres estate's Notre Dame Vineyard, located in the Montagne d'Alaric in the Corbières region of the south of France. The concentration and voluptuous depth are typical characteristics of reds produced in the south, but the Notre Dame brings another dimension to the table -- a firm structure that is more in keeping with a syrah from the Northern Rhone Valley. Along with that blueberry-blackberry jam fruit profile is the intriguing aroma of smoked game and spice. An outrageously delicious French Syrah for the price.

This Petite Sirah is a dark and full-bodied, deeply concentrated wine, yielding aromas of ripe berry, coffee, grain and spice. On the palate it carries layers of ripe cherry, blackberry and plum. Its finish is long-lasting and harmonious with well-integrated tannins. It makes an excellent accompaniment to beef, game, spicy grilled food or charbroiled meats.

Aged primarily in American oak barriques for 14 months; the Tadpole is your classic balcony wine – natural, juicy, soft and drinkable. Deep red, purple/black hues. Blueberries, mulberries, paprika (red spice) aromatics. Dark liqueur chocolates, liquorice and a hint of savoury oak. This is a mouthful of juicy, ripe red succulent berries combining with liquorice and chocolate. The wine has concentration yet remains focused by the balanced acidity and soft tannins, very harmonious.

Grown in the Paarl Valley in South Africa and sourced from grapes from two vineyards, the Malmesbury Vineyard and the Paarl Vineyard. Aged 14 months in oak. Alcohol is 14.5%. The artist who paints all the labels for Juno, Tertia du Toit, is also one of the founders of the Winery. Clean, clear, dark, black cherry red. The nose is more French Syrah than Australian Shiraz. Dark fruit, faint mushroom, and forest floor. Tastes of blueberry and blackberry, some tart cherry and bit of vanilla and a touch of oak spice in the back of your mouth. A blueberry/vanilla finish. The tannins and the oak are nicely balanced. A sharply packaged, well priced, great tasting wine.
100% Petite Sirah
The majority of fruit for this Petite Sirah is Estate grown. The grapes were fermented in Stainless Steel and pressed after 7-9 days of fermentation. The resulting wine was aged in a combination of new and used, French and American oak for 4 months. Deep purple in color with bright hues, the 2009 McManis Family Vineyards Petite Sirah is full of Boysenberry and Blueberry fruit aromas. Mocha notes contributed from oak aging are also present. The wine is big, rich and full of juicy red and black fruit flavors.
98% Petite Syrah and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon
The Phillips family farm was founded by Andrew Harshner and his wife Lucille who homesteaded 160 of farmland in Lodi, California following the end of the Civil War in the 1860’s. The “windmill” series is a tribute to the cool winds which caress the vineyards to this day. Super ripe blackberry and brown sugar flavors with a smooth finish that exhibits a touch of oak and spice.
93% Syrah and 7% Viognier
This is a wine with excellent depth of color, weight and tannin structure, with classic peppery and ripe berry flavors. Lifted violets and plums are dominant on the nose, enhanced by the inclusion of Viognier, which is balanced by hints of chocolate and dark berry fruit. The palate is soft and supple with lingering fruit flavors of red cherry, raspberry and licorice which is complemented with soft tannins and a long succulent finish.

This Shiraz is a very approachable wine with jammy, black fruit, a chunk of pepperiness and a well-rounded finish. Redbank and Long Paddock are now brands of large family producer, Yalumba. Spicy nose with cherry fruit flavors and ahints of mint, cloves and liquorice.
